Stuart Pearce Expects Young Lions To Shine

England Under 21 manager Stuart Pearce insists that his team will build on their performance after 1-1 draw against Spain on Sunday, The Young Lions were dominated in terms of possession.

Pearce feels the team’s attitude is growing and is expecting good things for the Under 21's in the tournament.

The manager has been impressed with teams attitude and spirit an expects a better performance on Sunday when they face Ukraine on Wednesday in Hening.

"I know we're improving. The game against Spain just told me we've got a good chance, no mistake," said Pearce.

"They're prepared to slog away with the opposition having quite bit of the ball. I asked the question, 'How many other nations would have thrown the towel in?'.

"We didn't. In fact we went and got a goal and after that we had two good chances to score another goal.
"In spells in the game we played some decent football. We need to do that consistently in matches, we've looked at that as a group.

"I know the spirit in the camp. They want to learn and they want to get better on the training pitch."

Pearce is keeping his cards close to his chest, as he keeps the media guessing on his team and captain selection, just like he did for the Spain match.

"Whoever plays will do us proud. Whoever captains the team will do the same," he added.
