Nani Urges Berbatov To Stay At United
Manchester United winger Nani has pleaded with team-mate Dimitar Berbatov to stay at Old Trafford, the striker was dropped from Alex Ferguson’s squad who were defeated against Barcelona in the Champions League final at Wembley last Saturday.
Sir Alex Ferguson selected Wayne Rooney and Javier Hernandez in his starting XI, with Michael Owen on the bench, leaving Berbatov conspicuous by his absence among the non-playing members of the squad
It is thought that the striker is weighing up his options and feels disappointed about being left out the squad; the Portuguese international has urged Berbatov not to turn his back on United.
He said: "I don't know what he has in mind but everyone knows he's a fantastic player.
"He has scored a lot of goals for us, finished as the top scorer in the league, and I would like him to play for Manchester United again next season."

Gomes hits out at Clattenburg
Tottenham goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes has hit out at referee Mark Clattenburg after claiming he did not see Nani's handball, where the Spurs player admitted that the whole ground saw it. Even the linesman saw this but didn't voice what he saw and Nani's goal was given. The Portuguese star broke into the Spurs area but fell in the area and handled the ball, as Gomes placed the ball on the floor for what he and the whole ground thought was a free kick.
Nani picked himself up off the floor to stroke the ball into the empty net and ref Mark Clattenburg gave the goal which lead to United's 2-0 victory over Tottenham, Gomes feels the referee didn't clearly communicate his instructions which lead to the confusion and even after the ref consulted the linesman, the linesman was clearly seen saying to Gomes that he saw the handball, yet the goal was given.
Gomes said, "In my opinion, the whole stadium saw what happened," said Gomes in The Sun. "It is impossible the ref did not see the handball.
"He did not gesture in any way to play on, like you would normally expect. When I put the ball down on the floor, he started gesturing with his shoulders.
"He is supposed to use his hands. It was not clear to anyone. It was only when I saw Scholes shouting at Nani to shoot that I reacted.
"The biggest mistake was not being clear afterwards. Maybe he did not have to give the foul but you have to be clear. He only gestured after I put the ball down.
"Nani stopped the game with his hands but this is not basketball."
