Gordon Strachan has parted company with Middlesbrough after only twelve months in charge following their 2-1 defeat at the hands of Leeds at the weekend. Middlesbrough were installed as favourites to get promoted by the bookies at the beginning of the season, but with just three wins from their opening eleven games. Boro have found themselves sliding down the table to 20th position in the league standings suffering their lowest league position for twenty years, only picking up one point from their last four games.
The Scotsman took over the reins from Gareth Southgate twelve months ago but has failed to impress the Teesiders and has been unable to get the best out of his players with chairman Steve Gibson and chief executive Keith Lamb deciding that enough is enough and they will now look for a replacement for Strachan.
